Radio Cemetery

Much as I dislike Saturday Live on Radio 4, it was nice to hear an extended piece on Nunhead Cemetery this morning. And remember, it's the Open Day next week!

Losing Woods and Trees...

Both South East Central and Lewis Schaffer have been highlighting and discussing a potential loss of Camberwell Old Cemetery Woods if reburial plans go ahead….

Worth keeping an eye on even though it feels as though the losses aren't imminent at least - if at all.

Similarly the redevelopment of the old nursery on Nunhead Green feels as though it may put some mature trees at risk?  Does anyone know more?

OK, so I was working, but the rest of the family were at home and they decided to go to the cemetery. This is what they saw...

I wondered once whether there were any lime trees on Linden Grove. Well here is one, hanging over the wall of Nunhead Cemetery.

Nunhead Cemetery Open Day

Nunhead Cemetery Open Day last weekend. The Cemetery can appear a little offputting at first:
But actually, the Open day is a little like a summer fair or fete. Lots of special interest groups, a summy day, refreshments and people meandering:
