The trees around Nunhead on Tour 5: More York

These are the last few shots from the short time we spent in York on summer holiday in 2008. Firstly, the castle mound and plaque:-
I hope that is readable - its a rotten story.
Just opposite the mound is the Castle Museum - which we whizzed around. They have some very well put together mockups of the streets around Victorian York. The shops are open and staffed, and there are actors walking around dressed as policemen and so forth:-
Then we went outside and had a wander around - some of the streets seemed little changed from the presentations in the Museum...




Although I didn't really understand the fashion for purple...

After a while of this we headed for the Minster and had a look around. I was surprised that we could take photographs inside.






... and finally, we found the gateway out...
